“They underestimate us! The politicians, the Business people, and the Employers all ****** underestimate us! They think we are all dead beats on Welfare draining the system. We see the News idiots! We know about the Wealth gap, Call center practices of tyranny& a system where elites just totally disconnected from our everyday concerns.
What did we do in return?
We gave up on Social unity, we gave up on education and we gave up on the idea that we need to give our economy in Quinte West some serious reform so that it can be around for decades more to come!
We need to return democracy back to the workers!
“Okay, we are in.” Just like that and next thing you know I am running a website the size of a small Newspaper route out of Quinte West. “There is no Union Presence in Quinte West.” Laugh Laugh Laugh Laugh Laugh
I have to chuckle a bit to that because it is comically hilarious. Somehow the Employers are believing we are low on Workers and that there is no Union Presence. (We are Unionizing in our communities. With our friends, with our loved ones & with our environment. There is a Union forming alright. You are going to have to fight it with some Democracy because the boot of Capitalism isn’t going to do it for you.
I have some ideas on Social Reform. Let’s have a conversation:
I’ve thought about this. It is a bit insane with we don’t as a community has a unified approach to Suicide Prevention yet. I have observed people trying the “If you commit Suicide I will get really mad.” approach, I know this isn’t an effective approach. Suicidal ideation is a healthcare emergency much like CPR is a healthcare emergency skill for basic life-saving.
If we want to Sustain our community longer. We have to get on the same page about Suicide. I paid $20 for this course and with it at least I have a fighting chance at making a difference for myself and others. We need to change our culture around suicide to be healthier and more sustainable for our communities. If you are reading this there is something you can do to make a difference in our Social Culture.
Go to LivingWorks.Net and get trained in Suicide Prevention, because Mental Health Emergencies are now a commonplace emergency. Thank you for reading my blog.
A modern commentary that is non-academic and non-bureaucratic is the tradition of the Non-Voter. Not everyone should have to burden the weight of democracy. Some people should get a pass. Whether it be to learn more, abstain from an argument, or pursuit a working grind or maybe self-declared mental limitations. We ought to view non-voting as admirable and a form of peacekeeping.
We should make efforts to collectivize with like-minded people.
This being said, although that is a duty of democracy. Why don’t we give it time? When I was 18 I had a head of steam and I was ready to vote. I am still ready to vote when the time comes because I keep myself informed. As a writer, I practice the exercise of opinion. This could be an exhausting and boring duty to some. Also a Democratic population unhinged would have a battlefield of tribalism. A moderate democracy ought to be recognized and celebrated.
What is wrong with sitting out?
(Utilitarianism suggests happiness ought to be considered in situations of scarcity. The U.S. had a capacity issue with taking votes in the Democratic primary. Site closures mean they can accept fewer votes per location. Economics wise it allows passionate voters to participate and apathetic people to sign out. If political movements aren’t speaking to you. Or even maybe you reject the concept of the state entirely. (Hopefully not the second one.) Maybe you feel unattached to the debated issues. Or even from your own intellect. Either way, we should allow a tradition of sitting out and peacekeeping. I think Political science in school is designed to demand democratic participation. However, we have to acknowledge feelings of alienation especially when consider the Socialist and Libertarian traditions of politics.
For the record I voted once from a non-voter family member’s residence in municipal politics. I think since he paid the bills he ought to get the credit for that vote. Even if it went no where. Objectively speaking Duncan Armstrong was a weak politician. My website definitely gets more traffic than his did. It is sad the Progressive municipal movement was soley up to him. Jim Harrisson is definitely a media savy mayor.
I just also think we overemphasize voting and underemphasize donating as well. A Capitalist would theorize that donating would actually make democracy more accurate. Not that I am a capitalist. However, I think democracy is partially now about resource management.
Ashton Deroy writes: Belleville Ontario & Quinte West has a massive problem with Sexism. This isn’t a fact I need to back with stats, because it is just innate common knowledge from within the community. Sexual harassment in the workplace isn’t so much a rarity here as it is a common occurrence from within the workplace. In my Sustainability proposal I did outline how Sexist behavior isn’t so much being addressed in the community. As much as it is being embraced as a regular part of the work culture in Hawkin’s Cheesies. However it is not an exclusive issue to this company.
At Hinduja Global Services I witnessed my friend to be forced through arranged seating to be sat near a man who was not only a drug dealer! He was also trying to harass her for a pair of her panties. This is unacceptable! This should have never been allowed. Maybe if Hinduja Global Services in Belleville Ontario can’t commit to addressing sexism in the workplace they should lose the privilege to assign seating.
I am now committed to calling out sexism. To start because this will be a radical shift for the culture of Bay of Quinte as well as Belleville Ontario. I am going to call out in the most radical fashion imaginable! I might be a pain in the neck about it, but it is going to happen. It is time to recognize this is a United Nations Sustainability commitment and I don’t consider changing sexist culture as a matter of free speech, I consider this a human rights issue!
Not only sexism, but if I see Transphobia going forward. I am going to react! It is time Transgender people feel safer in our communities. Yet we continue to enforce culture of misgendering, back talking & bullying in our workplaces, charities & communities. If our municipal politicians are not going to address this. I will address these issues! I am seeing a lot of consistency with my opinions on the Federal level, but not provincially & not municipally & it is time for that to change.
Commitment to call out racism. The reason I haven’t finished this blog is that I was still attending a college within Belleville Ontario that has a rather racist reputation. I am talking about Loyalist College. A place where there majority of people alienate our East Indian students. I am tired of aiding in environments where these potentially new Canadians feel less included & unwelcome. Personally anyone who comes to Canada to develop a skill & work is welcome in my books & I will no longer leave room for people to say otherwise.
That picture is linked to a Google review link which widely associates Loyalist College with racism. It is something the college must work on if they are going to continue to be an attractive option for International students.
This is a personal commitment I will continue to use in my educational, professional and leisure pursuits. I will be on social media & out about connecting with marginalized members of the community and talking to them about their concerns. Then I will come to this high traffic Independent Belleville website & I will start giving the real news of the people of progressing these problems. Through my tag research & website statistics, I have learned I have a presence in this community. This is a presence I fully intend to use for the better.
Commitment on abortion: This will continue to be an political topic I support not reopening. I will strive to censor pro-abortion groups or defame people associated with these groups. This is a division I will not compromise on! It is women of my income level who require unrestricted access to these services. Not the wealthy moralistic controlling members of society who are oppressing in my class & whom I continue to loathe!
Ashton Deroy Writes: Okay no one looking at Political News ever should be like, “Doug Ford is right about the economy in Hamilton. It is the fault of Socialists & Liberals that the economy had once declined.” Hamilton is one of those lucky cities that has had the Federal government promoting investment in Hamilton as well as the Provincial government. Lucky them, really. For all you Conservatives that don’t understand the economics you preach to us lefties about, please remember Aggregate Demand or AD measures the output of the economy.
To calculate AD you need to look at, C + I + G (X-M) Meaning economies are determined by Consumer spending, Investment, Government spending. Then you also add the result of subtracting your Imports from the value of your Exports. There if you dropped out of college you, you got a taste of economics. One of the factors involved in that formula is government spending, which plays a massive role in Canada’s Economy. With the Provincial and Federal government both investing time & resources in that section of the economy, it actually makes a lot of sense that the economic output would increase. This proves even more how I am like a Socialist because economics is a Social Science & Socialists use a mix of Social Sciences & Philosophy to make up our executions.
The reason I am talking economics before the main topic is because there is a wrong perception Socialists don’t even have a basic understanding of Economics. Socialism is the system that builds on top of Capitalism, not in spite of it. If you are a radical Socialist know that I do not share your views of eliminating a system of cash, capital and trading labor for cash. Now let us talk about why I call myself a Socialist. It has to do with my usual wage status, the point of my life that I have been stuck at & the rise of food + housing insecurity.
“Announcement, a cousin of mine committed suicide. Hung himself in a barn.”Ashton Deroy.
I had not even considered Socialism an identity option until I heard Doug Ford complaining about it on mainstream news. As you can see from the article above that is something he still does as a part of his parliament strategy. My usual wage status, “SURPRISE!” is around minimum wage. That makes sense because minimum wage makes up 44% of jobs in Ontario, I think the more data you add the more that stat grows. So I can’t exactly work my way to prosperity. Most jobs actually put me at quite a bit of a disadvantage. When did working become a way of sustained poverty for the majority? So I did the math from an economic standpoint. Wouldn’t it make more sense to operate a more honest economy? What do I mean? I mean heightening minimum wage & eliminating jobs that sustain poverty actually. It would be a painful transition but it would turn labor in to a sensible lifestyle. The average household income is going down at alarming levels, while household debt has gone up dramatically as well. That is the cause of a lot of inflation. If we take a bit of bitter pain, we can make more sense of the economy.
Getting stuck, was never how I thought my twenties would be. Yet here it is. With my level of student debt, it is going to be a long time before I think about leveraging the kind of debt you would for a home, a car & etc. It just is not in the near future. Maybe, if we look at making existing student loans more favorable we could heighten consumer spending though? I am certainly not the only one stuck at this point. Bad news to, if my generation continues to live stuck with nowhere to go… We won’t pay enough consumption taxes or buy enough products to make sustain our economy. We are already seeing the leave of automotive manufacturing as more people continue to rely on transit & in my neighborhood walking everywhere.
The last point is the rise of housing & food insecurity. It has to be dealt with. These things are how you create an uneasy society with mass suicides, violence & distrust of government . Canadian society has an issue of heightened crime, homelessness & drug use! In Toronto that heightened crime often actually looks like poor people directing crimes towards wealthier people. I am referring to crimes like the shooting at Yorkdale mall in 2018. When you have nothing to lose? That is the best time to commit an insane crime! The scars of poverty are for life. So instead of spreading fear lets create changes that make us less uneasy. I think what I have stated proves that I call myself a Socialist somewhat out necessity. Society needs to smarten up and put quality lives over soaring profits or we can start to see a society that eventually looks just as uneasy as places like Hong Kong & Chile.
Taxing large plastic contributors to pay for waste removal from our water & parks.
In August of 2018, I began posting on my Instagram and personal blog about an issue Quinte West had in regards to waste getting in to our natural water by Centennial Park. It has since been one year since I have tried bringing this to to the attention of the public & Mayor Harrison. Now we are writing this letter to an MP to create some kind of community responsibility in regards to the destruction of our waters. It is my belief that we need to either work towards banning plastics & fast food containers that are not biodegradable. What I want to achieve? I want to get our town to fund waste removal from the natural waters & surrounding areas.
Consumers of convenience store foods & fast food are some of the least Eco-friendly consumers on the planet. Every year massive amounts of containers, packaging and bottles are found destroying our natural habitats & water. In Quinte West I have photographed evidence of damage to our environment near centennial park, & in our Bay with the culprits being common convenience goods. I have also provided picture evidence to show that Quinte West’s volunteer waste removal efforts are not even close to enough aide. Which proves require a government collaborated executions to pay for waste removal efforts.
It is widely understood online that our town hosts some of the most wasteful industrial companies in plastics doing business in Quinte West. such as Nestle, other commonly high waste contributors such as Coca-Cola, Pepsi-Co & Metro Inc all sell goods within in Quinte West. I believe even if it requires creating a government paid execution for waste removals in public and natural attraction areas in Quinte West to try to reduce damage on our ecosystem. This is where we create job removing unnatural waste from environments where it can impact fish & mammals.
I want to conclude saying we need to do something to impact our damage to our ecosystem. I think the answer is to create jobs removing waste from areas where it can impact the natural environment. I am sure we can contribute to paying for these jobs by creating a tax on the output of plastics from these companies. If we do this next year we can save our environment for the future.
Contact our MP at: firstname.lastname@example.org . Ask him to take action to maintain Quinte West waters.
